Viacom Ordered to Pay Truck-Full of Cash

Viacom has been ordered to pay Harmonix Music Systems, developers of the hit franchise Rock Band, over $383 million in unpaid bonuses. The claim was filed last year by Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos and its shareholders, after bonuses for the series were unpaid for the year of 2008 when the game made its sales mark.
Viacom is attempting to fight the decision by filing a suit in the Delaware Court of Chancery with the intention to “compel the resolution accountants to consider arguments and evidence that were improperly excluded and to vacate the determination of the resolution accountants on the grounds of manifest error.” Good luck, Viacom.
