Game Militia

Back in the day, Game Militia was a bustling video game forum with a vast community and plenty to do. All of that was thanks to the Missions that the site enacted frequently. They were the lifeblood of the user base, and a huge way for users to get points back in the day. Those points could then be spent on games, consoles, t-shirts, hats, and even more. They were huge.

We’re bringing them back. Hit the jump for the first Game Militia Mission Briefing in almost 6 years.




Missions are the newest addition to Game Militia’s ever-growing community activities, that not only allow our members to interact with GM, and each other, but also allows them to shape the way this community grows in the future.

The missions will consist of tasks given to users that range in their capacity. This includes written entries, design entries, and even physical entries given the scope of the mission. They will be assigned to all members of the site, and open to all members until the Mission is deemed carried out. Each mission will be activated upon its posting on the home page of GM, and members will carry out the mission on the post itself, unless otherwise specified.

Upon proper completion of the mission, members will be awarded MP (Militant Points) in the amount that is set in the initial post.



MP is the new points system here at Game Militia. Members are awarded MP when completing tasks and milestones on the site. When a member comments on a post, they is awarded points, and a notification will appear in the top right corner of the screen. The primary way of earning MP is by completing the missions that will be active weekly for members.

More and more ways to earn points will be added as the community grows. This will include listening to the Podcast, posting in the forums, referring members, and just generally being an active member of Game Militia.

In the near future, Game Militia will also be adding a store for the community to spend their hard earned points on. This store will include items such as GM swag, video games, promo items, and even consoles. This is already in the works so be sure to get active! There will also be bonus points scattered all over the site for the most active users, allowing them the highest chance of receiving the great items in the Store.

Your first mission will be online this Wednesday, so be sure to be prepared. From here on out, you’re all on active duty.
