Rumor: Microsoft Killing Their Points

With the release of our own point system, comes a rumor that Microsoft is killing off theirs. Microsoft Points have been a mainstay of the Xbox Marketplace economy since its release in 2005, but apparently Microsoft is tired of sorting things out as of late.

Inside Mobile Apps claims that by the end of 2012 the points will be phased out and all transactions will be handled by real money. This won’t just affect Xbox Live, either, as the Zune Marketplace, and Windows Live will also be affected by this. We’ll update as we hear more.
